I just threw a 50th birthday party for my mom. We decided to go with a country-western theme because that's what she likes. But when at the party store, they had 50's stuff, and I was so dissapointed, that would have been really cool. I would suggest a '60's theme. . . I'm sure the birthday man or woman would remember the '60's!!

I was going to suggest what has been said about after the war celebrations but would add that if hiring a band was too expensive get loads of Glen Miller type records of the Big Band Sound. Also you will find other popular songs from that era. Instead of usual balloons and things decorate the hall with buntin, If you wanted to put real effort in to it you could also find old advertisement posters, tins etc from that time.

Do a roast! We just had a sixtieth party for my in-laws and the family roasted them. It was great! Lots of stories from the past and I have to say they too really enjoyed it!

Why not arrange a fun sports day like a 5 mile cross country jog them back home for tea cakes & a beer.

pimps and hoes , sounds a bit young fot a 60 th but was at one a few weeks ago and it was the best party ive been to , was great we had a laught her birthday cake was a pair of **** .
