Today as I was driving home and taking the 1-10 freeway from Pasadena to Los Angeles, I made a left turn while it was still yellow but turn red half way as I turn. The traffic light is a little different. You can't turn right on red because they have the green signal on when you can turn. Then after the green signal is gone for turning left, it will starts to blink yellow meaning you can still turn, but you have to yield to other drivers on the other side, and then after it stop blinking after a few seconds, it will turn solid yellow and turn red. I don't remember which street it was on though. The reason that I am worry because there is a camera there and they are everywhere in Pasadena. Will I get a ticket for it (they will likely send you a ticket through mail). So what do you think?

P.S. I am still pretty new to driving, only got my license for close to 3-4 months already.

I don't remember if there were any flashers from the camera, but I do know that you definetly can't turn on red.

the first sensor detects you entering on red, the second detects you in the intersection of red. The yellow is for clearing the intersection. If you actually had time to stop on the yellow, you made an improper turn (judgement call we all make every day), but would not have triggered the camera.

If you used your turn signal there will be no chance of a ticket. ;-)

It is realized that left turning vehicles will pull into the intersection yet have to yield to oncoming traffic before exitting the intersection. The light might turn red before they get a chance to do it safely.

yeah ur supposed to stop on yellow, especially if its like a busy road. its not illegal to try and beat the red light, but its recommended to not try that.

but if it turned red after u had passed like halfway then i dont think u'd get a ticket. and u dont really get tickets unless u pass the red like after it has turned red.

Actually, you should not have gone through the yellow light.
