First off my child would have the guilt trip. Everything taken away. Straight home to and from school. For a month. Twice I call the cops and let them sit in jail for the night. Alcohol is extremely bad for people's brain growth and things like that.

Arrange for a tour of the city/county morgue. It is extreme, but if they can see what a drunk driver or someone killed by a drunk driver looks like, they may rethink their actions. My stepfather was a lifelong alcoholic and when he died about 15 years ago, he was a corpse living in a shell of a body at the end. My mom is on her way there too. 14/15 years of age is very young for this behavior and I guarantee they are up to a lot of other things you haven't caught them doing. Teens will consume just about anything these days to get a buzz or get high. In my eyes, they have lost your trust and will need to earn it back. No more freedom to come and go as they like and a lot more concentration on what's going on at school. The childs friends also need to be evaluated. Most kids don't just drink on their own unless you have alcohol consumption as a regular practice in your own home. You have a lot of research to do on your child. You need to get a grip on them now or you are in for much bigger things in the next few years. I would take back cell phones and other communication devices too. There is no reason why they should be able to talk to people without you knowing whom they are talking to. Time to lock them down until trust can be reearned. They won't like it, but if you want to save your child you need to act now.

Rain hell down upon them.
I would take them to school, pick them up from school, take them to any event they need to go, etc. I would be with them every minute they are outside the house, minus school times.
He or she would not be allowed to go anywhere unless I had the time to go. I would micromanage every part of their life for the next 30 days.
If, after their punnishment, they drank again I'd send them into rehab. They would get authorized absance from school and I would bring their school work to them. My wife is a teacher, she would tutor.
I think he or she should get the hint by then. It may sound mean, but tough love is better than allowing them to drink any day.

Make sure they got up bright and early the next morning and did a lot of chores for a real long time. Then I would ground them for 2 weeks.
