India, of course. It is b'coz India is a place of wonderful scenic beauty. Its people live in harmony with nature. India is a country where each state has its own diverse culture. The artforms, architecture etc., are beautiful and unique. It's a wonderful place which has "UNITY IN DIVERSITY".

That's not quite fair. Yahoo Answers has a lot of users in India because they rely on websites from US and UK.

it's like asking a question like this saying which city to go Tokyo or shanghai on a Chinese forum. most people would tell you to "come to shanghai, it's fun", but the obvious choice is Tokyo. we all know that. people who invite you really believe in what they say about their own place.

i suggest you ask people who have been in both countries. i have been in china, if i had to make a choice, i would go for china. but that's not an answer i want to give you. you can compare these two countries on a lot of websites, with descriptions, travel thoughts and pictures(very important one, pictures), then you can make an informed decision.

as what people above me are saying, shanghai is the new Tokyo, and people in India are friendlier toward foreigners. these are all true. i heard of it a lot. also, people in china are more modernized than people in India, but Indian people are more spiritual. you don't see so many temples in the middle of a city in any other country.

Hope you make a good decision and have a good trip.

Hmmmmmmm.... you've thrown out a tough question ! I know both countries have wonderful people and it would be so great to get to know them and their cultures. I'd love to walk along the Great Wall. But I know that India is just beautiful and many people speak English. Since we're just dreaming, are you sure I can't go to both? I promise not to ask for anything else this whole year.

As I've been to China twice, I'd choose the Himalayan region of India for some trekking...

But I always feel the draw of SW China... Kunming and Yunnan Provice (Tiger Leaping Gorge), Chengdu, Lijaing, Dali, Shangri-La, and Yangshuo plus Tibet of course...

Hope you enjoy your trip!

China. It's so much different than the US. I think more so than India. India is so dirty and smelly. I have a friend who lives there. I would never want to go to India, however, I'd love to go to China.
