For 1 year i attend my takwon-do exercises. Now i discover wushu art and have visited one lesson. I have read about it and i found it deepest than taekwon-do. I really liked postures and movemens, using of swords and such. Unfortunately . they do not use the sandbags, but i get used to them in my tkw trainings i relly like them :)
Please, can you tell me your experience in wushu? Maybe u had same problem? :)

most wushu is sport and competition wushu but if you don't mind than whatever. maybe the reason why they dont use sandbags is that they idea is you will be performing wushu instead of using it as a self defence. but that doesnt mean you cant use wushu for self defence. o well if you have a choice between wushu or tkd i would look at it more into pros and cons and which you think would be most best for you. i take tkd and i also have the desire to do more exotic ma such as kung fu or something. i would stick with tkd for a while but if it gets boring id switch

most wushu tournaments iv seen they dont fight a lot.... but their forms are really good.. and you can try out the school for like a week or a month and see if you like it.. it dosent matter what other people say its what makes you happy and its what you want to learn its ok... but my tkd place we do a lot of mixed martial arts! like we do a lot ok kung fu and some wushu and we learn a lot of their teckneeks but not their wepens cause if your in the street then what are you most likely going to fight with? your going to use your self most likely... but yeah if i had a chance to try wushu then i would go... try to do any thing and eveything you can so you wont regret it latter on.. evne if its just for a little while try it.... but their forms! im telling you man its so amazin!!! i mean just the way they more and what they do its just unexplainable..lol but just try it for like a week or a month dont just try it for a day cause they might do something diffrent every day...

To be honest, Wushu is mostly for show. In fact, the huge schools in China teach the movie version... I have never seen a wushu person ACTUALLY fight... Not to say they couldn't but you are trading one martial art, for an ART.
