Hi

The reason is because the wax being applied is very hot and is heating the skin if you were to then have a heat treatment this would further add heat to the skin which can cause burning. So it is important not to have heat treatments before or after waxing!

The reason why it is not advised to have heat treatments after any type of waxing is because the pores on that area are open and are prone to infection if any chemicals (chlorine),lotions, any more heat treatments get in the treated area,so you want to avoid swimming, working out (good excuse lol), i always recommend my clients to wear loose clothing wherever they are having waxed as the clothes then do not rub on to the waxed area.I try not to tell my clients what to do but for their own benefit try to advise them.
So if you came to me to have your legs waxed my aftercare advice would be to
1.Recommend no hot bath or showers until next day,
2.No tanning treatments applied, body lotions, bath or shower products until after 24hrs
3.No heat treats (heat on heat can result in to very burnt skin)
4.Recommend to not wear tights, not wear tight fitting clothes as this can be uncomfortable and you can stick to them.
5.Lastly i always recommend a cooling lotion for you to apply half an hour later to help reduce the sensation and redness that is normally apparent afterwards, this can be anything cooling they have at home like baby lotion,tea-tree after wax lotion (i use on my clients) anything mild and soothing!.
Hope this helps.

i think it's because after you wax, your pores are open and the heat treatment will hurt or burn you.

it's kinda like never shave your legs right before you go to the beach. Getting into that salt water... OUCH!

Because all of your hair follicle's and pores are open and prone to infection and aggravation. You need to wait at least 24 -48 hour before any type of treatment.
