The pricing on Scions is like that for Saturn. The price on the window is the price of the vehicle. Period. Quite honestly, the dealer agreement that is signed between the dealership (all dealerships that have a Scion Nameplate) and Toyota states that they will honor the "posted price" for all products, services and accessories for these vehicles. So this means for the price of the car - the price on the window is the price that you can buy the vehicle for. For prices on parts or accessories, the same thing as well as for service.
Keep in mind that this also means that you're not paying anything more than the last person who purchased the same vehicle with the same accessories.
If they do discount the vehicle (or sell it for more than the MSRP) they literally risk losing their franchise agreement with Toyota. For the sake of one vehicle sale, it's not worth it.
And BTW, the price on these vehicles is astonishingly low considering what you're getting at that price. Comparible vehicles without the same quality of build are still $1000's more in price.
The dealership is not lying to you and take it at face value. If you like the vehicle and it is within your budget for what you want, go ahead and buy it. If not, buy something else. That's what it boils down to. You don't HAVE to buy a Scion and they don't HAVE to sell you one. As long as it's a good fit for both of you, go ahead.
Hope this helps.

You can't lower the prices on Scion vehicles because of their "Pure Price" sales approach. As for the prices of the vehicles, they are pretty low considering all the bells and whistles that come STANDARD on the cars. I think that the Scion brand is one of Toyota's best ideas yet.

No, Saturn dealerships do the same thing. You pay the sticker price that the company sets for the car. Except with Saturn, I think you get more for your money. There is no negotiating.

If you've already purchased it, my advice comes too late.
It all boils down to: "Do they want to sell you the car or not?"
Car dealerships Never Ever EVER lose money on a sale.
If they won't cut a deal, they obviously just aren't interested in selling the car.

They can always go lower than what they say, dont believe that crap about "theres no negotiating room because our price is already so low" every dealer says that, shop around, you'll find it cheaper i promise you.
