I personally am not a huge Earnhardt Jr. fan, but I do like the guy and he is kind of the Rock-n-Roller of NASCAR. I would like to see him win a Cup but does anyone believe he actually will? For those who don't like him please don't bash I just want honest opinions.

I dont think so. Too many drivers out there are better than him. He has competent driving skills and a good organization, but there are others out there right now beating him week after week with less backing than he has. He is not as good as his dad was and that's just not gonna change. He will win his share of races, but he will never dominate the sport as a driver, but as a personality.

yeah if he leaves DEI and goes on to a better team then his chances are very good. remember a driver is only as good as his car. and DEI doesn't have the best cars. You'll hear Jr. complain about that. Like he can't get his car to go where he wants it to. For him i think he personally feels frustrated to know that he can contend for the cup, yet DEI won't buy him the top of the line technology. He needs to leave DEI. It sucks because his father wanted Jr. to take the business over. But the fact is ever since Sr. passed away, DEI has been going down hill without him. I believe that if Sr. were still alive, that DEI would be a lot better off than it is now.

I'm a lifetime member of the Dale Jr Nation!

I think that he can win a championship it will just take a lot of work starting at DEI. DEI has slacked off over the years when it comes to the equipment. DEI needs to get better workers in the engine department, chassis department and better equipment. We all know that DEI is raking in the money but they are not spending it to get the quality equipment that Roush, Gibbs, Childress and Hendricks has.

He also has to become very serious about wanting that championship. I think that he is very hungry to win a championship...now he just has to go out there and prove it on the track.

But if he never wins a Cup series championship, it certainly will not defy his career in Nascar. He has done a lot more than some drivers have! He has accomplished a lot as well. If he never wins a championship...it will not be the end of the world and I will always be a fan.

No, he won't and here is why.

1.) Competition- With all the young good drivers out there that have already shown good driving ability, Jr not only has to worry about the veterans like Gordon, Johnson, Stewart and Martin but the youngters like Kahne and Hamlin.

2.) Technology- DEI would have to step it up in the equipment department in order to compete. Since every team is always looking for an "edge" I don't believe DEI has any advatanges. It seems like RCR and other teams have really stepped up the tech side of things, while DEI seems to be going backwords. Maybe I am wrong and it is still early in the season so maybe they will work out the kinks.

3.) Immaturity- Jr seems very immature in some aspects of his life and seems to lack focus at times. I think DEI and his sponsers have gotten him spread way too thin and that can be a problem. Also, from what I hear he is quite the partier. I have never driven a race car but I would think it would be very hard to concentrate and be in top form if you have been out the night before drinking and carousing. Once the season is over, he can go drink himself into a stupor but during the race season, he needs to slow down the whole partying thing.

4.) Want it?- I don't know if he wants it bad enough. I know I have heard him say time and time again that he wants to win for the fans and that's peachy BUT you have got to make sacrifices in order to win. No one is just going to hand you a Nextel cup. Sometimes, I don't know if he is willing to make the sacrifice that *might* be necessary to win. **See point # 3 **

While Jr. is not necessarily my favorite driver, I like his personality and candor. He seems like a good, genuine guy and the media loves him. Unfortunately, I see that as being one of the things preventing him from winning the cup - all the commercials, attention, and other distractions he gets are normally reserved for drivers after they win the cup, and I think that hurts his chances.

Things definitely need to change as far as his relationship with DEI goes. I think if he gets majority ownership in DEI, that could actually hurt his chances of getting a cup title because of the additional stress of being a team owner. His best opportunity would probably be with another team.

I am a J Gordon fan but I also like Jr. Gordon and Dale were good friends for a lot of people who didn't know that. They started Chase sports together. I think that Jr. could win a cup but he has to get settled down and either leave his step Momma or go it on his own. Or go with Childress. I don't think he is going to do much with DEI under they present circumstances.

The answer is no. He will always focus on being in the public spotlight and not on being a driver.

Besides his head is big enough. If he were to win a cup his helmet wouldn't fit. Not only that but I couldn't stand to go to a race and have to put up wit his lemming like fans. I swear, if Jr broke his leg half the crowd would show up in a cast because they want to be like him.

Yes. Under the circumstance that he leaves DEI. I am a huge Earnhardt (Sr. and Jr.) fan, but that company just doesn't cut it when it comes to the strength of some of the major owners. Roush, Childress and Hendrick organizations all have more resources and simply out class DEI.

I want to see him win a championship (many in fact) but with DEI I just don't see it happening.

Probably Not... Don't get me wrong. He's talented enough too! His problem is where he's at. DEI is not a championship caliber team @ the Cup level. If I thought he was going to be moving to another team, I might say otherwise... But all signs are pointing to him staying @ DEI.. (hasn't DEI really fell off since Mikey left? lmao)
