That's all depression does affect your life. It can make you lose motivation, make you stop taking care of yourself, make you gain weight, lose weight, make you anxious, make you paranoid, make you suicidal, make you develop insomnia, you can develop panic attacks which are no fun you literally feel like you are dying and your body feels like it's shutting down, you can even hurt physically from depression. It really sucks when i got through it, I feel like i got punched in the stomach, everything makes me cry, i hate everyone, my grades drop and i don't preform well at work, i have constant migraines, I won't brush my teeth, take a shower, or eat, I feel like i am wasting my life just sitting in bed since i can't bring myself to do anything else. It's very very serious mental illness that affects a good amount of the population. The worst possible result being death. So if you feel that you have signs and symptoms of depression get checked out, talk to a counselor, a friend, a parent anyone whom you trust it's easier to help when it's detected early. I've been living through depression cycles my entire life and it can be stabilized but not always cured through medication and or talk therapy like CBT.

Depression severely affects my life! I take anti-meds but I constantly worry about stupid crap, it interrupts my sleep, I have very few friends b/c I isolate myself from them. My husband is the most wonderful guy in the world and yet if I don't know where he is, I assume the worst.....
I have been to therapists, psychiatrists, doctors and consumed LOTS of booze but it always comes back to me and my decision to fight the disease. All the meds in the world do nothing if I choose to lay in bed under the covers. I fight everyday to have a positive outlook, to suppress the anxiety and constant negativity towards myself. Some days I lose the battle but I try not let it stop me from moving forward. I fight it EVERYDAY and it sucks! Even though I usually don't do it myself, exercise is the #1 way to fight depression. I always feel great after wards but getting started is an issue for me! Good luck to you-Keep your head up! Talk to your doctor!!

Depression can actually ruin your life. True depression is a disease and needs to be treated. I speak from experience. I have been on antidepressants most of my life and I have gone off a few times thinking I was fine, but I have great friends who have privately come to me and said my personality had changed and they felt something was wrong, so I went back on. Depression can make you question everything about your life. Please, if this question concerns you, get some help.♥♥!

Depression can certainly affect your life. It can affect your health, your decision-making, your attitude, your future, every aspect of your life can be affected. You need professional help, my friend, which you won't find here, good intentions notwithstanding. Seek care from a psychologist as soon as possible. You deserve to feel better.

FYI: Anxiety is often one aspect of depression. Depression can manifest in many ways.

Depression can do a lot of things to you. You might want to talk to your Dr. and he/she can point you in the right direction. They may even recommend you to see a therapist and be diagnosed for whatever it is you are experiencing and take it from there. We all need someone to talk to so don't go it alone. It also sounds to me that you are a very insecure person who needs to be reassured all the time. Do yourself a favor . Get help before it gets worse.

that's not really depression. You're describing things more along the lines of anxiety, and yes, it can affect your life alot.
