Are there any signs as to when a b*i*t*c*h is going to go into heat??

My yorkie/silky puppy is 6 moths old and has not previously gone into heat. We are planning to get her spayed in the next few weeks. Are there any signs that i can read to tell me when she might go into heat. I want to be prepared so she doesnt make a mess of the house.

There is actually a potential for her to have her first heat and soon. Most dogs go into heat every 6 months give or take a month or 2. When dog breeders breed dogs they usually recommend waiting till the second heat which occurs sometime between 1 year and 1 1/2 years of age.

If you are planning on getting the dog spayed in the immediate future you should do it sooner rather than later because if she goes into heat you will have to wait until she is out of heat which is typically around 3 weeks of time (10 days of bleeding and 10 days in which the dog can feasibly conceive).

Finally, there are no real warning signs that a dog is about to go into heat though there may be subtle signs such as acting differently or if you notice a dropping of the v*a*g*i*n*a*l opening may be signs of an impending heat. Unfortunately most dont notice until the first signs of blood. Bleeding during heat usually starts slow and get worse toward the middle before lightening again as the end approaches so i wouldn't be too concerned with her making a mess of the house unless she has free run of the house when you are not around.

Spotting and swollen vulva are sure signs. Even if the dog is in heat she can be spayed.

Watch for short skirts and cleavage showing shirts and watch for their breath to smell like appletinis and red bull and vodka, if u see these things happen at once u can bet that the ***** is in heat

She wont till she if over a year. The only sign of going into heat is bleeding from the rear.
