Well its obvious you guys one, either don't know each other that well so you or not comfortable because there are always things to discuss and/or two, you are not really that compatible. You could both make list throughout the day about things you want to discuss, something you saw on t.v., if something made you laugh, plans for the future, something you always wanted to know about the person, if someone got on your nerves,etc...

This is sooooooooo normal. It happens with adults too. Depending on how long you have known each other, You either have to find some common ground, or develop an interest in something that you know that he loves if you have been together a long time. Ask about things that he loves (a particular sport ?).

Research it a little bit.

I personally hate sports, but I got into figure skating because my girlfriend loved it. I even started to know who the stars were and how they score them. We argued over scores, performances, and had a great time!

Have sex?

Seriously though, it looks like there needs to be some serious upgrades in conversation here if the relationship is going to work.
