Whatever you do, go online and read the lyrics to make sure they are appropriate. This question comes up all the time and people constantly make suggestions of songs that are nice ballads, but not at all right for a wedding. Remember, people will be sitting there watching and paying attention to the song, so if the lyrics don't work it will make it all wrong.

Like Bon Jovi "Always"- it's about someone who has been dumped by their lover, so not exactly wedding-friendly. The first few lines "This romeo is bleeding, but you can't see his blood" won't set the tone quite right.

Goo Goo Dolls "Iris"- all wrong- beautiful song, but depressing and about pain.

Lifehouse "You and Me"- another beautiful song, but the lyrics just don't make much sense.

Whatever you do, don't pick a country song if you're in England. People WILL take the piss behind your back. Believe me.

For something different, and not too cheesy, Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol might be nice?

I will be here by Steven Curtis Chapman

Tomorrow morning if you wake up

and the sun does not appear

I will be here

If in the dark, we lose sight of love

Hold my hand, and have no fear

'Cause I will be here

I will be here

When you feel like being quiet

When you need to speak your mind

I will listen

And I will be here

When the laughter turns to cryin'

Through the winning, losing and trying

We'll be together

I will be here

Tomorrow morning, if you wake up

And the future is unclear

I will be here

Just as sure as seasons were made for change

Our lifetimes were made for these years

So I will be here

I will be here

And you can cry on my shoulder

When the mirror tells us we're older

I will hold you

And I will be here

To watch you grow in beauty

And tell you all the things you are to me

I will be here

I will be true to the promise I have made

To you and to the One who gave you to me

Tomorrow morning, if you wake up

And the sun does not appear

I will be here

Oh, I will be here.

My Hubby & I danced to "Come What May" from the soundtrack of Moulin Rouge - Ewan McGregor & Nicole Kidman.
Robby Williams & Nicole Kidman version of "Something Stupid" is nice too.
If you want something slow & romantic Anne Murray - "Can I have this Dance"
Won;t suit everyones taste but the lyrics fit:)
Best suggestion I was given - practice dancing together wearing your wedding shoes.
Amazing how much difference it made.
Have a wonderful day!

My husband & I danced to "All About You" by McFly. We didn't like the idea of slow dancing around the dance floor - wanted to give our guests something to laugh at as neither of us can dance! As a result we ended up flinging each other around the danceflor! It's a lovely song though, when you really listen to the words. My second choice was "I belong to you" by Anastacia & Eros Ramazzotti (Track 14 on her "Pieces of a Dream" album). Really beautiful song.

My fiance and I are doing Frank Sinatra's

"I've got you Under my Skin"

I've got you under my skin
I've got you deep in the heart of me
So deep in my heart, that you're really a part of me
I've got you under my skin

I've tried so not to give in
I've said to myself this affair never will go so well
But why should I try to resist, when baby will I know than well
That I've got you under my skin

I'd sacrifice anything come what might
For the sake of having you near
In spite of a warning voice that comes in the night
And repeats, repeats in my ear

Don't you know you fool, you never can win
Use your mentality, wake up to reality
But each time I do, just the thought of you
Makes me stop before I begin
cause Ive got you under my skin
