I think it all became prevalent with the current administration. People started flinging around their political slogans and they started mixing religion and politics publicly and the political propaganda just boiled over into the religious sector.
Now - if you don't agree 100% with the pundits, you're a "liberal", which only means "generous", but has come to suggest something negative. It's like calling someone an ****** without saying the dreaded @$$ word. And since a lot of these pundits are conservative Christians, they think all other Christians should be like them. And when you're not, you're "not really a Christian". It's all propaganda and B.S..

After a manner of speaking thats correct. You cant be a liberal or Conservative and be a follower of Christ. Thats putting politics ahead of Christ and the two loves are not compatible.
You could possibly put this in the same category of "you cant serve God and Mammon (money)". You cant serve God and have your political pie too.
Politics has little honor and is all about power.., at least for the ones who seek office. They promise this and that, and deliver very little if any of that and this. being a party to such deceivers is very much in conflict with Christ and his teachings.
As I recall, Jesus did not waste one ounce of his time beating the drum for politicians (be they Jew, Greek or Roman) and found it more expedient to tend to God's business.., as did the Apostles and his other followers.
Do you get my meaning?

Because the majority of Christians who vote, do not vote for liberals.
There's a lot more than liberals stand for than war and abortion. Gay marriage, taking prayer out of schools, removing the 10 commandments, taking "under God" out of the pledge, stealing people's property under the name of environment or socialism, etc.
You may want to consider the whole picture and see where you align closest if you're truly a Christian.

You are just more proof of the same. The government CAN tell you not to kil your baby. are you SICK? Of COURSE it can tell you not to chop your baby into bits.. to rape it in the womb.. to PAY someone to MURDER IT.
if that is not the role of government i do not know what is.
has there been another organized terrorist attack on US soil since 911? NOP.. you lose.
I have never met a christian who was politically liberal..Democrat? SURE but they want their democrats to be for innocent babies not big business like most democrats.. (oh didnt you hear? Global warming, environmental law and labor issues are all part of big business. MONEY)
Christians must be conservatives with a spalsh of libertarian who all believe putting the constitution first is right. Period.
