well the priest gives the chance to anyone in the audience who has a valid reason why the couple should not get married... well usually no one does stand up... but if someone does then they should have a very gud reason to do so... otherwise they can be taken to court. believe me, my father is an Anglican Priest. (all the best for ur wedding)

This almost never happens - except it did at my sister's wedding. A crazy woman (not associated with the wedding) entered the church before my sister walked down the aisle with my Dad. At first she was just a little noisy, but sure enough when the preacher asked the question, she jumped up and said "I do - no, no"! You could have heard a pin drop in that church. In my head I was cracking up because my sister was 40 and getting married for the first time. That woman was definitely in danger of getting knocked out with a lucite shoe!
Eventually the coordinator and ushers were able to escort the woman out of the church and when the service resumed, the preacher made a light joke. Everybody cracked up and it really set a pleasant stage for the rest of the afternoon. It was definitely a memorable event!
Best to you and don't worry about this. I'm pretty sure this was a one in a million thing.

Most preachers will stop the ceremony and go and speak to the person to find out what the issue is. Unless they're convinced that there is a legal or ethical (religious) problem, the ceremony will be completed.
For example, if someone objects because you're already married, this is a legal issue. End of ceremony.
If the person objects because they're in love with you, the preacher will likely ask the person to leave. Maybe after consulting with you.

Yeah that would seriously suck!!!But i mean if there is any reason why you shouldn't marry the person you would know you don't need someone else to tell you about your life. Also if there was something to be said they can say it be for or after your marriage-this is your day and i would be damned if someone wanted to be rude and ruin it-It's just there opinion and i really wonder if this ever really happens to people.Someone actually standing up lol iwould just freak!!

I think people only object in the movies - otherwise they would really look like an @ss in the middle of the ceremony!! Too late! Hopefully if anyone had objections they would be kind enough to talk to you in person, long before your big day.
I'm sure your wedding will go off without a hitch. :)

anything could be the cause for that....maybe someone knows either the bride or groom is still married, or illegal, or is in debt up the their eyeballs, etc...doesn't mean the wedding wont still go on, but just interrupt for a few....there have been cases where something has been brought up, and one or the other(bride/groom) has said "forget it".....

they voice their reasons and then the couple would have to take that into consideration, in movies it is ALWAYS so dramatic and the couple ends up NOT getting married and the bride usually runs away with the guy who stood up, i bet it rarely happens in real life,

if you are getting married you could request to have that part removed from the ceremony. I have been to three weddings and the priest never said it.
