A commercial grade carpet, like you would see in an office building. Have had mine for 20 yrs and still looks great. The most important thing when buying carpet is the padding, get a high density pad and you'll not only get a good wear but comfort too. Berber will unravel at the baseboards and your gonna end up sucking it up in your vac, been there done that. Good luck Les the painter

Definitely a berber, most of them wear very well. Stay away from the really cheap ones though, if you have pets or if anything gets snagged on a loop, it can pull, not pretty! If you have your heart set on a cut pile, check out Anything Goes carpets from Shawmark, they have a 10 year No Mat No Crush Warranty, even on stairs and hallways, that's all I will put in our house. Hands down the best. They have all different styles, so you're bound to find something you like. http://shawmarkanythinggoes.com/

Tripod, a camera with slow shutter speed. I think one of the auto settings on a point and shoot will work. You might need to trun off auto ISO, and keep it not too high, that way you only get the lights and not too much detail of the cars, and you get rid of a lot of the noise. I've seen some people do it without a tripod but then you get wavy lights and you'll have to do it many times before you get it right. Oh, and absolutely do not use zoom unless you have a tripod or atleast lens shift or sensor shift IS. Oh, you might also think of using a remote switch or self timer to take the pictures that way you don't shake the camera when you push the button. Ofcourse most of this stuff isn't really necessary, except the low shutter speed, but it is all useful and will mean you have to take 5 shots instead of a million to get it right.

Definitely berber. It lasts forever! Berber carpeting is nice because is also has patterns in it (if you want) to add a little character to it.

continuous loop berber, it won't show the wear patterns but remember if you get a stain you have to clean it from all angles to get into the fabric, also if you have pets make sure to keep there nails clipped so you won't get a snag but if you do, don't pull on it just clip it or hot glue it back in place or it will zig zag open like a dog food bag.

Berber, though a bit more expensive, by far the best for high traffic areas.
