yes it is that's why it's called the kisser's disease. It can be passed most commonly through saliva swapping which includes kissing, sharing drinks or spit.

One can also get mono from sharing drinks in bottles and cans, sharing food, and some other ways.

Yes extremely infectious. It is contracted by passing on bodily fliuds, namely the kissing disease. It can be very nasty and even lead to hepatitis A. It CAN be cured, and always is, but leaves you very weak and often depressed.
