If you are asking if you can show up an hour before your flight then I would say probably not. You want to allow plenty of time to get through the long lines at security, as the lines are fairly long at most airports these days due to heightened security.

Short Answer: PROBABLY.
Detail:
As an Air National Guard staff member, I travel extensively within the continental United States, AK, HI and the territories.
A really accurate answer to your question depends upon the airport you are flying OUT of. Some airports have more efficient methods of processing departing passengers.
Very rarely have I seen processing times exceed one hour for domestic flights, so in most cases you will be fine. If you've been told that your airport is either VERY busy, under construction, or inefficient, I would recommend adding an extra 30 minutes.
In no case should you ever have to arrive more than 90 minutes prior for a domestic flight even at airports like BWI, Chicago's O'Hare or Atlanta's Hartsfield (a few of the busiest airports).

if you are asking, can you show up one hour before flight time and still board, the answer is no, you will not make the security check out in time, and these days flights oftenleave the gate before the announced time, if everyone is there thats booked for the particular flight.
