Wow I actually know this one. OK.
This isn't much of a secret, but it is to my friend, and it worked incredibly well with her.
Her usual hair is hard to deal with.
She simply used the normal amount of shampoo in the shower the she usually did with especially warm water, rubbed it in and rinsed it out.
Repeat.
Now take a small amount of conditioner, I guess that would be quarter-sized in the palm of your hand depending on how much hair you have, and make sure it's a little.
When rinsing out the conditioner, use very cold water. (I sort of bend back so it doesn't hit my skin)
You've probably heard of using cold water like this before, or even "Icing" your hair.
This will reveal the natural shininess and make it soft.

I have hair down below my waist and I get compliments all the time since I started using coconut oil soap to wash my hair. It's fantastic. You don't need a conditioner and your hair will be soft, shiny and manageable! I like Tropical Traditions brand Lavender Coconut Oil Soap. Also, never use anything but a 100% natural boars' bristle brush on your hair, wet or dry, and you will never have split ends. I am over 50 and have had very long hair all my life!

To make your hair soft make sure you saturate your hair with conditioner after washing it and leave it on for 5 minutes. Once you come out of the shower let it air dry but not fully, start blow drying your hair preferably with a hair dryer that allows attachments such as a brush. Once your hair is fully dry it will be quite soft. To make it even softer and to add the shine, use a anti-frizz/ shine serum. It is pretty thick so you only need a drop, the one I use is called got2b glossy you can get it at any shoppers drugmart or hair store. Good luck ......

The first thing that makes your hair soft and shiny, are the nutrients and vitamins that you eat, so a good diet is very important. Next, i really like the aussie mega 3 minute miracle conditioner....and the biosilk leave in is awesome......remember though, if you do use the biosilk, only use a small amount (size of a dime), and distribute it well, otherwise it will leave a greasy feel......

When you are finished washing your hair put mayonaise n it and let it set for a little while. Make sure you are taking care of your hair, if it is over processed chemically, it will be hard to repair, you just need to make sure you are not making it any worse. If you lay out in the sun put suntan lotion on your hands and run it through your hair. That will protect it from chlorine in the pool, and from added damage from the sun.

1) Use a super clean shampoo about once a week
2) Rinse your hair once a week with beer--it will increase the shine.
3) Don't dry your hair everyday if you have to. If you do feel the need to dry it, pat it with a towel first.
4) Do you have oily hair? If you do, don't use a conditioner.
