Dee, Do not panic. I am a social worker and work in close conjunction with public aid and WIC. Do not freak out. You will not get denied the medical card nor WIC because you are pregnant. Yes, you must include your part-time job income. The medical card is based on need. They making the decision based on you family size. Example: there's 5 in your family. You bring home gross 1246.00 a month. They excluded your rent and heating expenses. From that they use 65% of your income, so you would be able to get benefits. This if you are not pregnant. Now, if you are pregnant they automatically give it you.
If you go WIC and apply there you'll problem get it quicker there. They'll give you a yellow sheet of paper(Temp medical card) that you can start taking your OB/Gyn visit until you get a medical card. You qualify for WIC, you need to bring ID, SS card, proof address and 4 recent pay stubs.
You'll be fine. Don't stress out it's not good fro you when your pregnant and answered you question. Need help I am from IL you can contact me at corona_c@sbcglobal.net. I know of a lot of programs that can help you with obtaining free crib and baby clothes.
God Bless!
I have a couple of questions to ask though,

If the income is reported and you pay taxes, yes. If you can't afford the baby, you can use a charity hospital and then put it up for adoption. Lots of agencies that can help.

I hate to be the first one to point out the obvious but how come you allowed yourself to get pregnant knowing full well you could not afford to take care of yourself during pregnancy, much less the child after you give birth? Please become an adult and take responsibility for your own actions and do not rely on taxpayers to take care of you and your offspring.

I'm sure it's been suggested that you consider abortion. Enough said. Yes, all forms of income (SSI, tax refunds, alimony, etc.) are considered and if concealed may affect the dept.'s decision. Be forthcoming about your part-time job. Bring your pay stubs and your 2006 tax returns with you. You already have a list of the documentation you need. You may still qualify if your income doesn't exceed their requirements. Even if it does, inquire about immediate, one-time assistance.
