What if i design a guitar pick that is the same size and shape as other guitar picks on the market? can i patent mine?

You can't patent a device for picking strings on a guitar, but you CAN get a DESIGN PATENT (not the same as a functional patent). If your particular shape is not a copy (even if it is 'off' by a millimeter on some dimension, or curvature it is not a copy) then you can get a design patent.

I have them both but I prefer the red (.50 mm) ones. That said, you're better off going to a store and getting a few of both plus a few of some other brands as well and keep trying them until you find your favorite. They're inexpensive, after all. What I like is basically irrelevant to you. Good luck.

Hi. They are named after Jim Dunlop are are a brand, not a shape.
