I see with a lot of concern here (in this site) that there is a lot of racial conflict between Mexicans and Americans when it comes to immigration issues.
However, a well informed person would know that there are immigrants from different parts of the globe, which makes this country richer in culture and everything else. I wonder why we don't see that... Why do we pick on Mexicans? They don't represent all immigrants (my grandparents being from Germany were immigrants once too), and why do we associate IMMIGRANTS with ILLEGAL?
Isn't our reaction to others full of hate (as we claim some Muslim do) and as condemnable as ilegal acts?
Plase share your opinions wisely. I would love to hear form Christians too, since this country (like it or not) has been based on those principles.

I want to add that I do not approve of illegal acts either...and that is my point...we should be very careful to think immigrants=illegal. I say this because whenever I said my family is composed by immigrants they think illegally...
I probably touched a sensitive issue here.
And I thank the people who has answered in a respectful way here

Let me start by saying that being against illegal immigration no matter what the country of origin is neither racist in nature, nor is it hate mongering. I will grant you that I do see some people who make very tragic statements in this debate. Whether this is related to a racist belief system or just absolute frustration is of very little consequence. Racism should never be tolerated period. The vast majority of people who are against illegal immigration are not against immigrants in general, but rather those who choose to violate our laws with impunity, then have the further nerve to call any who question such bad acts racists. It is dishonest and it has reached a breaking point for many people. As too why the majority is directed at Latinos. This is a simple explanation. It is because the majority of illegals present in the country fall into this ethnic group and thus bear the majority of the criticism as a result.

Racism, no. Discrimination, yes.
Discrimination is justified, because illegal aliens are not supposed to be here. They have not earned the rights of American citizens, and are still allegiant to their home countries. They have not gone through the process of becoming American citizens like immigrants have for the last 200 years. We shouldn't be catering to the needs of illegal aliens, they are literally a foreign invasion without weapons.
How is there a racial conflict between two nationalities? Mexican is not a race. American is not a race. Americans include Hispanics who are against the illegal invasion too.
It doesn't take a rocket scientist (or a well informed person) to know that this country has people living here from all over the world. We associate illegal aliens, (and I go by the law and the dictionary, and refer to them as illegal aliens) with Mexicans, because over 50% of the millions who cross over the U.S. border annually without permission are citizens of Mexico. Anyone who can not see that there is more Mexicans living in the U.S. than any other nationality, is blind, or in denial.
The only people who I see that are confused with immigration terminology are people who support illegal aliens. The pro-side always refers to illegal aliens as immigrants, because they are in denial that illegal aliens broke immigration laws and are present in the U.S. illegally. To call an illegal alien an immigrant is insulting to LEGAL immigrants.
If America is going to be burdened with more people, it should be people who WANT to be American citizens, who speak English, have been processed (checked for disease and criminal background), earned the right to be here, and contribute instead of taking from America. Mexicans want to be Mexicans. They want to make American dollars, and support Mexico. Mexicans want to turn America into Mexico.
Anyone who calls their self American, and thinks the Mexican pillaging and re-colonization of America is a good thing, is in my opinion a traitor.

I think everyone thinks of mexicans because it is so easy for them to get into the us. all they have to do is make it across a river. Everyone else has to fly, boat etc... Plus there are way more illegals that are mexican then any other race here. There is nothing wrong with immigrants as long as you are here legally. Americans have such strong attitudes towards illegals because they are illegals. I think a lot of the frustration of illegals come from people being pissed off that our goverment does not do anything about it. Instead they give them drivers license, welfare, etc.. and yet when an american gets hit by a car that an illegal is driving with a valid us drivers license somehow the american gets screwed and has to pay for everything. Our jails are so full of illegals it is unbelievable. All that money we could save our tax payers if we just got them the hell out of our country. What really irrates me is that the mexicans have their protest and walk the streets supporting the illegals when they really arent supporting illegals they are just supporting their race. Half of them probably dont know any illegal. And who cares if they do if you want to be part of the USA then you need to do it legally just as they did.

I can tell you why I don't like Illegal Immigrant south American central American, or Mexican. I have met quiet a few, I live in a tourist town. My family works in foster care and now are caring for some Mexican boys, 1, we think was born in the US the Middle child we know was born in Mexico, and not sure about the baby., and others. They were more abused that I have ever seen. They had burn marks all over their little bodies, not to mention the rest. That is not the only case, they have some garlic treatment, where they rub garlic on a sick child, or something of that sort. The child ended up with multiple burns to her skin, and it was allergic to garlic. That is not the only thing they have drained our health care system, and emergency rooms too. Which never get paid back, They take advantage of our welfare system and low cost housing, not to mention, when they do move out it looks trashed, and smells from the 12 people that lived there. I know the waiting list in our town is almost 1 year, last I heard. Then to go drive by them and it is mostly mexicans, and everything is put up in Spanish too. It makes me sick. I for one could stand to see a change. I am guessing where I live, it is the Mexicans and South American who are the majority of Illegals, if I come across others hey I would be just as mad. Well I could go on for hours about this... and to those who say the Illgals pay taxes,( with their stolen I.D cards and Fake social secturity #s,) know that those sameones are the ones using our welfare system, the wonderful Court appointed attornies, When they do find themselves in Legal Trouble. I will stop there before I scream at everything wrong with this picture today. If it was up to me it would be legal just to shoot them where they stand, just for being Illegal, because if you need to be remined, that is a crime.

Well, for one thing, most immigration these days is coming through South America. I am not against immigration, just "ILLEGAL" immigration. When someone is an illegal immigrant they are coming into the country as criminals. I DO have something against criminals. All this does is show that they already have no respect for our laws and these are not the type of people who make good "citizens"

Well, if you were reading carefully, you would know that the majority of the posts relating to illegal immigrants are only referring to those who come here illegally, not those who have come here legally. We pick on Mexicans because they are the majority of the lawbreakers and they are the most disrespectful of American Laws. They are also the most vocal subversives and are the most dependent upon the good nature and charity of American Citizens for their support. When we say we are opposed to illegal immigration, we are not just talking about Mexicans. We are talking about all illegal immigrants from whatever country.
Maybe you don't understand that we have immigration laws in the USA. People who enter the country without following our immigration laws are illegal immigrants -- that means they have broken the laws of the land. What would your government do if people from your country broke the laws? Your grandparents were from Germany and yes, they were immigrants, but they no doubt came here legally. They probably became Citizens of the United States by learning the laws and passing the tests and following the laws of the land, didn't they? Hitler was the German leader who allowed the Holocaust because he wanted to promote one, great Aryian Race. What did he do to those who didn't fit that profile?
I bring that up because the Holocaust is what can happen if we don't uphold the Constitution of the United States and the Laws of the Land. We have immigration laws to protect our country's sovereignty and protect our citizens. We don't want to allow disease or subversives into the country. These subversives tend to undermine the government, cause bankruptcy, commit numerous subversive acts and continually work to destroy our country. We condemn the illegal acts of people who are hell-bent on destroying all that's good in the United States.
Illegal immigrants are promoting lawlessness in the U.S.A. and the best way to prevent that lawlessness from getting too strong a foothold is for US citizens to discriminate against all those who are not in the country legally, regardless of what country they're from. We should demand identification from everyone we do business with and we should check that identification and report all those who don't have proper identification. We, as citizens should cash in on the reward money offered by the IRS for tax evading illegal immigrants and those who hire, harbor and help them. The only real way to protect our country from terrorists is to ensure that all our citizens and immigrants are law-abiding and are loyal to the United States of America.

I agree that the issue is illegal immigrants, not 'Mexicans'.
However, nowadays when someone posts a question saying 'why do you hate immigrants' or 'are you in favor of immigration' they tend to mean illegal immigration. Correct language would be helpful on both sides.

You are right about this nation being richer for the people who immigrated here. But, they did it legally, learned the language and worked above the table. I think that racism and discrimination of any kind to be some of the ugliest human behaviors possible. But on immigration reform, they need to be legal. I'm only sorry that others of like mind do not have the grace to answer you politely.

The issue of ILLEGAL alien criminals has NOTHING to do with race! It has to do with our LAWS!!!! I am so sick of ignorant people claiming that.
I don't pick on anyone. I am livid over the fact that we have 30+ MILLION criminals in this country that don't give a crap about this country or its laws. They are destroying our country. Again, this is not a racist issue.
There is no hate for these criminals and NO discrimination - except for the fact that the ILLEGALS are not suppose work in this country and they have NO RIGHTS! But, that's the law.
WHAT PART OF ILLEGAL IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND?
