So if I think about exercising, have I added muscle? HOw about community service? Did I just mentally do 50 hours there?

No, theres a difference between thinking of something vs actually doing it.

By thinking of it you have done nothing.

you haven't committed it dumb-dumb - you're no better than it. So many hypocritical scriptures within the Bible never cease to amaze me.....but some I feel will truly have great consequence. I don't know all that scriptury hoo-rah but it went something like this: Jesus said it is better to commit murder without letting the person hear you persecute them with hateful words which usually harm a person's spirit and feelings a lot more...and will linger on with them in memory continually reminding them and hurting them all the rest of their days.

What that scripture means...is you think about the act before you do the act.
You understand that, even the courts use that as a determination of guilt. Its called Pre-Meditation.

tell me, what leads to murder? do people go "oh, you're anice person. wanna go to Heaven sooner?" and mean it?
and as for muscle, no, you've just caused a few of your braincells to die trying
