God said He produced Jesus.
God said He gave Jesus.
God said He was the Father of Jesus.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten
Son that whosoever believes in Him shall have everlasting life.
Begotten means produced, cause, to be the father of.
God was the Father and Mary a human the virgin mother.
So Jesus was both Eternal Spirit and Human. What portion are you allowing God the Father, the Spirit and the All-consuming fire, in making Jesus Christ? Because Jesus had the eternal Father inside Him in the body of a human being, He was able to say "before Abraham was I am." Or "If you've seen Me, you've seen the Father God." Or "The Father God and I are One."
This is the clearest and most honest answer that I can give.

I think that the Nicean Creed can sum up your dilemma when it states that, "He (Jesus) was begotten not made, one in being with the Father." When the Bible indicates that He was "begotten" what it is saying is that Jesus was DEFINATELY born of a woman...i.e., he was 100% human. If this did not happen, then he could not have, "carried our transgressions" and truly experienced life as a human being....yet at the tame time he was "one in being" with the father....i.e., he was God.....blows your mind doesn't it! So even though you sound a little perplexed, you seem to actually understand the concept quite well...and you are confused.....thats ok!
You have stumbled onto one of the age old mysteries of God.....that is JESUS....was he God...yes! Was he man....yes to that question too. It is difficult to understand. I have to say here that if you are trying to "understand" that is great, but you will NEVER fully understand Him. God was never meant to be understood. Just like you cannot always "understand" why things happen in a relationship with a g-friend or b-friend, or other relationships, a relationship with God was never meant to be understood...just like any other relationship, it was meant to be experienced.
So, anyway getting back to your question.......when it is indicating that he was begotten, it is saying that he was born of a woman...not that he was "created" at that time.
As for God being the target of event and progress, I guess that you are referring to Jesus on earth here. However, I am not sure exaclty what you are asking???

C. S. Lewis once postulated an explanation that I find interesting.
If you light a flame, then it immediately gives off light. Light is not the flame itself, but light is begotten from the flame as a by-product of the flame's existence. You do not first have the fame, and then the light comes later; rather the light is produced as soon as the flame is produced.
The apostle John described Jesus as the "Logos" (expression, or word) of God. Jesus is a by-product of God's existence, since Jesus is the expression of the Father as much as the light is the expression of the flame.
In human terms, a father must be older than his son, because humans must be of a certain age before we are capable of reproduction. It is a common fallacy of us humans to assume that God is bound by our human limitations. If God is eternal, then why can't his son also be eternal?

The term "only begotten Son".
He that was conceived of the Holy Spirit. ( God Himself)
Consider:
Luke 1:35 And the angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy offspring shall be called the Son of God.
"Begotten"
If this doesn't fit the answer you were looking for, I can't do any
better.
What do you mean proper answer?
Do you have a predetermined answer you are looking for?

It could very well mean that Jesus was God's only begotten son by Mary and he was created at that moment as man. Jesus is and was eternal but was created man at the point in time that God decided it was necessary.
It's a good question, do more research. I would be careful to say that God is imperfect, but keep seeking.

First off,
John 1:1-5 " In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by Him; and without Him was not any thing made.
In Him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehhended it not".
John 1:1 " And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John bare witness of Him, and cried, saying, This is he of whom spake. He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for He was before me.
And of his fulness have all we recieved, and grace for grace.
For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten of the Father, he hath declared Him.
No angel has ever been in the bosom of the Father nor declared Him. Jesus is the incarnate word of God. He is God in the flesh so we could see what God was like, and He came to keep the law of God that Adam failed to do.
Read Hebrews 10:5 " Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, "Sacrifice and offering thou wouldesst not, but a body hast thou prepared for me".

Jesus is God's Son. The word beget means "to father" or "sire". Thereby meaning that Jesus is the only begotten (only one directly created) by God. God transferred the life of his spirit son who was in heaven with him before the founding of the world, into the womb of Mary, using the power of his holy spirit. Jesus and God, Jehovah, are two entirely separate and unequal individuals. Your question is very unclear and I don't know what you think the word means, but my dictionary makes it very clear.

beget: to father, sire; to cause to exist.
It doesn't mean God is imperfect, what would be the point in having an imperfect God? Could it not mean Jesus was begotten as having come into our world as a human?
I know you don't want it, but it says in the Bible in John 1 that "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning"

"Jesus is begotten son" was the act of Christ taking on human form. Christ, the Son has always existed.
Man was imperfect and a sinner and God planned for man's salvation through Jesus.
I know that you are an intelligent person. Please read the Holy Scriptures and allow the Holy Ghost to reveal the truth of God Word to you.
John 8:32 - And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 18:37 - Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

You are confused.
Jesus as man was begotten in human form.the angel told mary "the holy ghost will come upon you and the power of the highest shall overshadow thee:there fore that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the son of God. this is the event you are talking about.
He had existed in spirit form since the begining. in order to fulfill the part of the savior he had to assume a human body.
1 st cor.15:47 the first man is of the earth, earthly:the second man is the lord from heaven.
.
read the 1st chapter of luke. then read the first chapters of mat.mark and john. they all tell the same story from different veiws.(hint) WORD with a capitol W represents Jesus. because he was the promised word of God sent to man.
in his human form he would overcome sin and become the perfect sacrifice.
your confusion comes from trying to understand the infinite with the finite mind.
