CPR-Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. This is a sequence of events from establishing responsiveness of the person to actually performing chest compressions to circulate the blood and give coordinated breaths to oxygenate the blood that is being circulated. In addition, we've added the defibrillator to change a life threatening irregularly beating heart. The quicker we can 'defib' the better chance the person has for recovery. I hope this is what your looking for.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) consists of mouth-to-mouth respiration and chest compression. CPR allows oxygenated blood to circulate to vital organs such as the brain and heart. CPR can keep a person alive until more advanced procedures (such as defibrillation - an electric shock to the chest) can treat the cardiac arrest. CPR started by a bystander doubles the likelihood of survival for victims of cardiac arrest.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

* The earlier you give CPR to a person in cardiopulmonary arrest (no breathing, no heartbeat), the greater the chance of a successful resuscitation.

* By performing CPR, you keep oxygenated blood flowing to the heart and brain until a defibrillator becomes available.
