He is a Bush appointee and is suppose to do his job at the "pleasure of the Pres - just like the other appointees). However, if the Pres asks him to do something illegal (not likely) he is suppose to tell him no.

Technically I heard he is America's top cop.

Actually, there is one attorney that SHOULD have been fired, along with the 8 that were fired. SUTTON SHOULD BE IN PRISON, not Ramos and Compeon!!!

Gonzales' job has always been to provide justification for any stupid or illegal thing dubya has wanted to do. He's been doing this for about twelve years now.
