for the past 4 months i have had pains on the lower right side...a little under my belly button to the right. i have had these pains since november. i have had a ultrasound in december showing no inflammation of the appendix, and nothing wrong with my gallbladder and liver. its now mid march and i still have these cramps. i can only feel it when i push it and the pain in above it in the middle stomach. but when i leave my fingers there and push out i dont feel any pain at all. i havent had a fever no throwing up. i been told appendicitis doesnt drag out for months like this. everyone says it happens really fast and i would know something by now. i am scared to death that i had it and the poisons are in my body. can someone please help me. i have had blood tests in febrary and my white was fine. could this be ibs or gastitis. the cramps are on just the lower right side...not the left...please help im freaking out bc i dont want surgery.

OK, first of all... RELAX!!! You are no where near needing surgery.

It's likely not appendicitis. As you were correctly told, appendicitis doesn't drag on for that long.

What you do need to do is get in to your doctor and get this taken care of. Tell him/her exactly what you are feeling and what you've had tested already. This is obviously effecting your quality of life and you need to be aggressive in taking care of it.

If your primary doc doesn't or can't help, ask to see a specialist. In your case a GI (Gastroenterologist) would be your best bet.

Good luck

You don't have appendicitis. Nor you have the poison of the appendix in your system, because if you did you'll be dead by now. when your appendix bursts within minutes you'd feel the effects. From the description you've given it may a duodenum ulcer or IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome).

A duodenum ulcer is a small ulcer that starts in the beginning of your small intestine. This is a sign that you have bacterial infection in your stomach that causes ulcers.

IBS is basically is that your bowel functions are out of whack. And that the muscles in the large intestine are not contracting properly and you are retaining feces. When that happens you need to take a fiber supplement, like beneafiber and take a oral laxative to clean your bowels. Now, I am not a doctor, which I assume you are aware of but I can assure that it's not appendicitis.

I suggest to visit a gastroenterologist. It's a doctor that specializes in GI diseases. If they try to find out what's going on with you. Good Luck!

First of all Appendicitis can come and go at first though that is not always the case. I would say if your white blood count is good then you are probably OK for now. As far as poison going through your body I doubt it is doing that. Usually it takes an appendix to burst before that happens and believe me you would be deathly ill.
I would however check with the doctor and find out what is causing it. If it is a flareup of possible appendicitis then you may need to have it monitored. In any case if you are in severe pain then get seen immediately. Good luck!
