First off all, Jack Johnson would not be as suceptible to Frazier's left hook as Muhamad Ali. Ali relied verry heavily on pulling back to avoid punches, and a left hook is the worst punch to use this tactic against because you cant measure it. My main concearn fro Frazier's point of view would be that he relied verry heavily on his left, which Johnson, a very astute fighter, would no doubt pick up on.

Johnson would probably be efective at neutralising Frazier in the clinches as he was aginst 215 lb Sam McVey. If Jack wanted to wind Joe up and Joe to chase him around the ring and expend energy, he would most likely talk to Frazier during the clinches.

And against preesure fighters...Johnson beat McVey very convincingly three times and used to handle Tom Sharkey rather easily in sparring early in his career. He also dominated Luis Firpo in a sparring session in his mid 40s. Johnson always said "The slashing fighter is my meat". Enough said, really.

On the other hand he seeemed to be troubled by smaller pressure fighters like Hart (lacklustre performance whether he won or not) and Ketchel. Jack said of Ketchel: "Stanley gave me a tougher fight than Tommy Burns." I do believe he was being polite to Ketchel though, because the book 'Unforgivable Blackness' says that Johnson basically cruised it against Ketchel.

Joe Frazier was like an attack dog in the ring. Opponents could not fight in spurts against him. He would not allow it. Frazier forced opponents to expend engery at all times. On films, Johnson did not spend lots of energy. He may have to do so vs Frazier. But one thing Johnson would not do is hang around and trade.

If Johnson could get his uppercut going, he would do well. Frazier bulls forward, and Johnson counterpunches his way to a Unanimous decision, but I do not beleive there would be a lot in it.

Well Bluedevil you can look at how Frazier fought Ali. Jack Johnson would not be able to breeze his way through Frazier. Jack Johnson had a KO percentage of approximately 50. Ali had a 61 KO percentage. Ali had a 6 inch longer reach than Johnson did. I think Johnson was better defensively than Ali though. Johnson fought until he was 60 so some of his losses are certainly understandable.. The punches that landed when Ali threw them from the outside are not landing as frequently when Johnson is throwing them. Frazier is getting on the inside with more frequency hitting Johnson with shots ...I see Frazier winning more often than not by decision therefore I am back to my drawing board with my all time greats because I have Johnson ahead of Frazier. Love these type of match ups.

Jack Johnson. Frazier's monotonous style wouldn't cause the defensive master much trouble, or motivate him to push himself. Johnson by an easy unanimous 15 or 20 round decision, depending on whose era the fight took place in.

Jack Johnson was as better ring technician than Ali.

Regardless of what the stats say he could hit. He lived in an environment where a fighter if they were lucky could get a plate of food if they won a boxing battle royale. The rules were different in those days, it was based on survival.

They fought often, longer rounds, tougher opponents, carrying injuries through previous fights in poor conditions, with a lack of food and sleep. Just to make ends meat.

Johnson by stoppage.

Sorry to say, Joe would be way over his head in this one. Jack Johnson would have been too fast with his hands and feet and Joe wouldn't have fared as well as Marciano. Johnson would have beat Joe to the punch, and countered that famous left hook with an equally famous right hand.

Johnson by KO in 10

JACK WOULD SMOTHER FRAZIER. WHEN U WATCH OLD FILMS OF JACK U CAN SEE THE WAY HE PARRIED ( A GREAT DEFENSIVE MOVE THAT FOREMAN COPIED) PUNCHES. HE COULD STAND IN FRONT OF U AND MAKE U MISS BY JUST MOVING HIS HEAD.

TWO OTHER POINTS TO CLEAR UP.

HART VS JOHNSON - THIS WAS NOT A CLOSE FIGHT. IT WAS STOPPED BY THE AUSSIE POLICE ALONG WITH THE FILMING BECAUSE HART WAS GETTING BEAT ALL OVER THE RING.

KETCHEL VS JOHNSON - THIS BOUT WAS AN EXHIBITION. STORY HAS IT THAT KETCHEL WENT A LITTLE OVERBOARD AND DECKED JACK. JOHNSON IN RETURN KO'ED STANLEY AND SOME OF HIS TEETH.

P.S. I NEVER WILL CARE FOR OPINION BEING PASSED OF AS FACT.
EVERY ONE IS ENTITLED THEIR OPINION BUT NOT THEIR OWN SET OF FACTS.
