You can go to the Doctor and get a diet pill for children, but because of the way it works you have to use it with a very LOW fat diet. If you take this pill and continue eating all of the fat and stuff your child will end up with a very severe stomach ache. Basically a pill is not the solution.....you need diet and exercise and maybe a little medical health care on top of that. Childhood obesity is a huge problem and you must be careful because you could be setting them up with terrible eating habits and body image issues for life.

Try getting involved in some sports activity and loosing weight without out drugs. To many side affects, you don't want to use diet pills. I don't know any diet pill that does'nt have bad side affects, most of them cause liver damage, which is far worse. I know you will make the right choice. My blessings to you and child.

He/She is but a child, change your child's eating habits. Less junk foods, sugar etc. Read about nutritions, go out with him/her and some do some kind of sports - be active. You don't want your child to be depended on pills to lose weight. You want it to be a healthy weight loss for life.

Please don't put a child of that age on diet pills. Talk to your physician or get on the inet and look around for a good balanced diet for children and/or for children to lose weight. You would be doing your child a great disservice .. and possible harm..by putting him/her on a diet pill regiment. There are many more alternatives..please seek them out first! Good Luck

I wish you would have said more here. For instance, what else you have tried to effect a healthier body. Here is my personal experience: Saw my child getting larger and larger every year, regardless of how tall he grew. I had joint custody and had a hard time effecting change. When I got him back 2 years ago, he had to eat healthier and I took him to the track with me and taught him how to lose wieght honing his self discipline. He was MISERABLE and MAD but today, he is a healthy wieght, and is a very happy boy. He thanks me all the time for helping him. He is not the smallest kid, or skinny. He is however, healthy.
ps. When the crap food is not in the house, I swear they will pick up an apple. If you have tried all of this, then you may want to go to the pediatrician and see about their thyroid.

My response would be to take your child to a nutritionist. Diet pills are not good for a child. Healthy eating and exercise is what is best.

YOU are the 13 year old. Don't lie.
No doctor is going to prescribe weight loss pills for a child.
Stop eating so much, avoid fast/junk food and exercise.

there are alot diet pills out there. but it's really not safe for either children or adults. the best way to lose weight is to promote healthy eating and proper exercise. if they change their lifestyle, then so will their weight.
