I have very mild acne - mostly lackheads on my nose and chin. I use Benzaclin in the morning and Retin-a at night and I also take an Anti-Biotic. I have been on everything for about 2 months now - however, my face doesn't seem to be getting clearer or anything and it is still oilly - any suggestions or has anyone else encountered this problem?

I use Retin-A and have oily skin. The problem is, our skin manufactures oil to keep it moist (obviously) - but the agents in Retin-A are used to dry out the pimples. So, in order to make up for the lost moisture, it seems like our glands go overboard in creating more oil.

I've read that you should just try to wash your face at least twice a day and avoid pore-clogging makeup. Don't use other cleansers that have drying agents like alcohol. Drink a lot of water to stay internally hydrated. I blot my face several times a day instead of wearing powder and still, by the end of the work day, I get kind of shiny. Some mornings I even use a light moisturizer after I wash my face so that there's already moisture there, it works most of the time until I get sweaty.

I’ve used Benzaclin & tetracycline (antibiotic) before, after Pro-activ has given my mild acne problem more & bigger pimples (size of a quarter, and I’m not kidding). It was throbbing with infection, and I really felt like getting my money back for returning it was not even worth what I had gone through. I went to a doctor after 2 weeks of that Pro-activ use… she had to give me an injection shot to immediately & effectively stop the infection. Maybe you should ask your doctor about it, it’s kinda like Penicillin (sorry… forgot the exact name).

Your skin might not be clearer probably also because of hormonal reasons.

If you’re willing to invest money more wisely, I suggest for you to go see a laser center, and get that blue light therapy. The blue wavelength of the light spectrum kills the P. acnes bacteria. I’m now having my facial scars remedied at a laser center, and when breakouts come around, they give me blue light treatment. After a few hours, I’d see my small pimples almost dried out, and within 2 days they’re gone. Might be expensive for you, but again, invest your money wisely. Acne scars are really hard to remove, more expensive to treat… take control before it gets worse.

many persons have experienced zits. people who've, no longer do. ultimate answer is: discover something else to think of approximately and get on alongside with your existence. zits will go away in time (no longer too long) and there'll come a time once you will discover it difficult to bear in concepts you have been ever inflicted with the difficulty. Salves, potions, pills and soaps will purely provide some psychological alleviation. Mature thinking will do a similar. good success!
