Bob Foster was one of the best KO artists at Light Heavyweight, I am going with the Old Mongoose, Archie Moore. I believe he was a very clever boxer, an excellent defensive fighter who could also punch very hard. He also was a bit more succsesful at taking heavyweight punches (although just as Foster, he did not win a heavyweight title).

Foster went the 15 round limit 4 times, whereas Moore went a full 15 rounds 5 times. As Moore was the smarter boxer, I think the longer the fight went, the less of a chance Foster would have of winning. I would go for a Moore KO or stoppage late, perhaps in the 12th or 13th round.

Awesome match up, and a great fight. Archie Moore had the heart of a lion and the ageless wonder of legend. Bob Foster had the edge in quickness and speed, with a sense of ring awareness that was unequaled in his division. This one would be a chess match at first, and very difficult to score. I can't see Foster bringing anything into the ring that Moore hadn't see before, and Foster had the defensive skill to match Moore's pressure. It is likely this one would go the distance.

Moore by decision.

Bluedevil I know we are in trouble with this one. I think Moore would KO Foster late. Archie Moore fought many fights to get where he wanted to be and where other people didn't want him to be. Foster had a great KO punch but I think Moore takes him late into the fight having tired him out and knocks him out.
Bob Foster was a great light heavyweight fighter but I think Moore has too much experience for him.

Archie Moore had 145 knock outs to his credit. Like Robinson a master boxer puncher.

Archie Moore by decision or stoppage.

Why because he fought and beat bigger and stronger men than Bob Foster.

GREAT BOUT, GREAT QUESTION.

AS GOOD AS FOSTER WAS HE WOULD BE IN TROUBLE. THIS BOUT IN THE TODAY'S ERA, FOSTER WOULD HAVE A CHANCE UNDER THE THREE KNOCKDOWN RULE. MOORE WOULD EVENTUALLY WEAR DOWN BOB TO SECURE AN 11 RD TKO.

I checked boxrec, there was never as such thing as a boxer named Bob Foster. What a waste of time that was, thanks.
