This one would have been an awesome fight. I believe I asked this when I first started coming on here.

Hagler was the better boxer of the two, and slightly quicker. I would say the two were more or less equal in strength, punching power and punch resistance.

Hagler was only officially off his feet once, whereas Monzon was off his feet three times against Felipe Cambeiro in 1964 (Monzon was only 22 at the time). After that, he was only knocked down once - in his final fight in 1977.

Monzon simply walked people down, whereas Hagler could adapt to any opponent. Hagler looks to outbox Monzon, and wins a narrow split decision.

I agree with Blogbaba. Monzon's style is a little bit similar to that of Tommy's. I see Hagler boxing smartly in this fight. Hagler will have the edge in chin and defense. Monzon will have the edge in speed. I think both men will be equal in stamina and power.
I think Monzon will try to knockut Hagler. Hagler will counter Monzon throughout the first 5 rounds. I see some exchanges in the middle rounds. I think both men will be tired by the late rounds. I think Hagler will stop Monzon in the 13th round.

Marvin would make another Thomas Hearns out of Monzon. Both Hearns and Monzon were tall lankey fighters with good boxing skills. Hagler would force a war, and Monzon would be too brave for his own good. Carlos never backed up if he could help it, and would end up just like Tommy did.

Hagler by KO inside of 6 rounds.

Hagler would win by decision. Would be a close fight both would have their moments in the bout but Hagler has more power dictating the fight.
