belongs = تعود لـ
eg;الكتاب يعود لأحمد
means the book belong to Ahmad
تنتمي = explains kind of relation ship between a person and a group ..
eg :أحمد ينتمي لبلاده
it's mean that he is member of his country .

تعود means "come back" or "return"

تنتمي means "belong to"

the one on theRIGHT means: belongs to

the one on the left, however; means: refers to(if used as an adverb, unless the preposition "ila" or "to" is added)
-the verb means: return.

تنتمي has one meaning that is "Belongs".
تعود you need to use with it the letter "le ل" and means that there is a kind of ownership
