My son is 13 and delivers the Herald and Post free paper, there isn't any other job you can do at 13 apart from a paper round, why don't you ask your parents for extra chores around the house in exchange for some extra pocket money, depending on what you are saving up for im sure they will help you

At 13, I'm not even sure you can deliver newspapers so if I was you, I would ask your family if you can be paid for doing jobs for them. I know I'd pay you if you were my teenager and would do the washing up or hoovering every day. I don't the current rates but it would be worth it. Pick the nastiest job you can think of - may I suggest changing a cat litter tray, properly - with disinfectant, you might be able to negotiate a higher rate of pay for that.
Or walking the dog two hours every day. I'd charge at least fifteen pounds a week for those, singly. Put together, well, I don't know how much you need to save but you'll be there in no time.

Unfortunately, you are too young to be employed legally, also, I cannot offer any ideas of getting you into legal employment without getting us both into trouble, but here's a few ideas... Saying that you could get a paper round will probably give you less then a tenner a week, I know that from experience. But try the local newsagents' anyway, and now that it's almost summer, well, people'll be wanting their lawns cutting, try that if you can use a mower but its not hard to learn how. Also, try washing peoples cars, taking the neighbors' dog for a walk and babysitting are usually useful to others and great for you too!
Good luck! :-)

You may want to try grass cutting or lawn work or a news paper route. Child Labor Laws are very strict. I doubt you will be able to find a "real" job for the next few years. I know this isn't what you wanted to hear, but it is the truth. So try the lawn thing, it can earn you some extra bucks.

The problem is that by state law, you are too young to work. You'll have to be at LEAST 14, and that would be for like concessions stands etc. Most fast food restaurants don't hire until you're 16....sorry kid.

Do some chores, ask your neighbours if they need help with anything.
Ask your mum if she would be happy to pay you if you helped around the house.
