I never knew there was a right and wrong side of a sidewalk.

What about those places where there's only a sidewalk on one side? Does that mean you can walk on the right side to go someplace, but need to walk in the street to come back?

Too many people walk on the wrong side of the sidewalk, hallway and mall.

Since it is a courtesy and not a legal law, it isn't enforced. So, people just do whatever the fluck they want and don't care if they collide or inconvenience you. As a matter of fact, they don't care if you are carrying anything either! People, especially younger people, don't care about anyone...not even themselves, judging by what they look like in public.

cosign with Mrs.Z
What's worse than THAT is when you approach a whole group of folks that want to walk side by side. I call this The Wall, like 3-5 people all walking side by side. Dumb@sses.
Myself, I don't move and I don't dodge, I'm walking on the right RIGHT side and if you bump into me it's gonna be a problem.

I hear you.
Did you ever notice that when you are on your Right side of the sidewalk and they are on their Left side coming the opposite direction (still 50 ft away) and you move to your left to avoid collision, they move to the other side as well (well after you have already moved).

Wake up people!

This annoys me too because then it becomes a game of dodge. I will walk on the wrong side only if I am passing a particularly slow group of people. Other than that it just makes it inconvenient for everyone.

Well if they walk in the direction that is facing traffic, then that is the correct side, other than that, it's unsafe.

they're clueless dimwits. My favorite is when 2 people walk side by side on the sidewalk and neither one of them move when someone approaches. They expect me to walk in the grass or street to they can remain side by side. duh. I just stop dead in my tracks and make them walk around me. They're not any better when you are pushing a baby stroller, either, in fact they're worse!!

I never know which side to walk on. Why would people want to collide with you? That is just dumb. I just walk on whatever side I want to, and if someone is walking towards me, I move, its that easy
