Xanax, Klonopin, or Ativan
(for people like myself, prone to psychotic outbursts of rage)

Oh, by the way not literally "psychotic"
I am more accurately suffering from acute anxiety and a short fuse
i used the P. term to try to describe how intense my feelings are

I have taking Ativan and it did nothing for me. I am now on Paxil and it works wonders. If there is ever a day when things are really bad my doctor gave me Klonopin to get through that day. Ask your doctor about Paxil, maybe it would be better for you.

I don't have psychotic outbursts, but I do have anxiety & panic attacks and I prefer Xanax Ativan for me at least didn't help that much. I have never tried klonopin. I hope you have seen a Dr. for your condition.

I prefer Xanax. Klonopin must be taken throughout the day for best results, so it is not as effective for psychotic outbursts.

I prefer the one that works for you. This is an individual thing, how you respond to each medication. Also, explosive disorder can be helped with psychotherapy.
