Not quite what you wanted, but Ancestry has a James Bowater listed as:

James Bowater
25 Aug 1865 Prince Albert, Dudley, Worcestershire, England
Father: Ezekiel Bowater (born about 1822 in Coseley, Staff and died 5 Sept 1878 in Prince Albert, Dudley)
Mother: Eliza Bowater (maiden name Elcock, born about 1927 in Dudley)
Wife: Sara Jane Perkes (born 24 March 1871 in Dudley, married 18 May 1891)
Children: Eliza Jane, May, Elsie Maud, Leonard James, and Dorothy

It has him having 8 siblings, 2 sisters and 6 brothers.

That's the best match I was able to find for what you gave. If you think this is the person you're looking for, send me a message and I'll give you the rest of what it has.

Im sorry I dont know anything about your family but I think its great that u r trying to find more about them. I can give a few suggestions( because I also have been searching my family tree) The Latter-Day Saints have a really good and helpful website and u have some pretty good info for starters. Just search Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and there should be a family search there. And then theres other places that u have to pay to search archives ( Ancestry.com and Geneology.com) but they are very helpful. Ancestry.com charges about $23/mnth, which isnt bad. But I wish u the best. Sometimes it get really frustrating when u get stuck but just keep looking.
