Yes I have the same problem!! I have large pores and as a result I get blackheads! Don't listen to people when they suggest all these facial washes, etc. These are only designed to remove blackheads for people with a mild blackhead problem. They will reduce some of the blackheads but not enough to significantly improve the appearance of them. The only way to keep them at bay is to either have them professional removed at a salon every so often. Or to go to the doctor who can prescribe some cream. The kind of cream they prescribe is what is used to treat mild acne. I used to use it but it made my skin so dry I had to stop. But it is different for everyone!! Also not a good idea to wear foundation when you have large open pores because it will clog up your pores leading to spots, and blackheads getting worse. But then saying that I don't really wear make-up so don't know much about it. However i did read that foundation is bad for blackhead prone skin. Probably best to speak to someone at the beauty counter of a store and ask if they know of any foundations that do not clog pores.

Use a delicate scrub or exfoliant to do away with any lifeless cells and demonstrate the blackhead. Pat your face dry. place a humid heat wash textile on your face for 15 minutes to soften the blackhead, making it much less perplexing to do away with. place quite tissue on the tip of each finger to ward off slipping, that could tear the floor and reason extra harm. gently practice even tension to the two components of the blackhead by ability of pushing down, then up around the blemish. You’re attempting to coach the stress from the blackhead. merely attempt this a million or 2 circumstances. If it would not “pop”, you will be able to bruise the floor, make the blackhead worse, and ought to reason scarring. Exfoliate your pores and skin 2 - three times a week too. clean & clean Morning Burst scrub is my fave. do no longer scrub too difficult & dont use a heavy oily moisturizer on your face the two. Cleanse your face 2 circumstances an afternoon, yet do no longer dry your pores and skin out. Cetaphil is sturdy to apply.

Consider seeing a DEMATOLOGIST rather than a "beauty therapist."
Here is what a medical site said to do:
1. Cleanse twice daily with a 5% benzoyl peroxide wash. An alternative for those who are allergic to benzoyl peroxide is 2% salicylic acid.
2. Apply a gel or cream containing 5% benzoyl peroxide, an alternative is sulfur or resorcinol.
3. At night, apply a spot cream containing sulfur to the affected areas.
4. Use a light skin moisturizer and oil-free makeup.

I've always had problem skin and until recently I had loads of spots and black heads and everything. I got the doctor to prescribe a contraceptive pill called Dianette and it really sorted it out. I also do all the old routine of cleansing everyday and exfoliating once a week. Clinique do a good exfoliator, by the way and it seems to do wonders for the blackheads.

i am glad you have asked this question because the last few weeks i have been suffering with blackheads and my pores seem to be open and my skin just seems to be really bad at the moment in general. i cleanse and moisturise everyday. i have started to drink a lot more water because that is good for your skin. i have posted a question about chemical skin peels, maybe look at the answers i get from that, maybe it might be some help to you. x

I know this sounds silly but you have to close that pore once it's open so i have a friend of mine who has really bad black heads some of them are huge..and one day i asked him why he didn't pop them he told me he does but it leaves a big hole and within a few days and in some cases hours they start to come back..so i asked him if we could try a few different things to see if maybe we could try and fix his problem with stuff on the market today..well we started off with the usuall clearasil and that didn't work and then other brands of stuf..then i remembered what my mother allways told us growing up to keep your face clean you have to wash with hot water then rinse with cold water to close the pores..and i also remembered my grand mothers cure for ingrown hairs..wich is take natural oatmeal and cook it and apply it to the spot and cover it over night..then the next morning there would be a head on it so you could pop it..so we started out making a pretty hot oatmeal mask for him and applied it and covered it with some gause over night the next morning the black heads where all very loose and popped out without any hard pinching..then we took a very hot cloth to his face and kept repeating the hot cloth for some time till all his pores where really open ..then we did another oatmeal mask this time we only left it on for an hour just to clean out any remaining dirt from the open pores..then he washed his face off with more really hot water then once all the oatmeal was washed off he took ice cold water to his face to close the pores.and this is the part you will think is weird but it worked like a miracle..we used PREPARATION H that's right the hemeroid stuff.it's purpose is to shrink and tighten skin..so he put some on his nose first to see how it would work..and it did ..holly crap it really worked the pores closed right up..so he kept doing it for a few days and after about a week he was black head free.and the pores had shrank to a size that he barely had any more of those big awfull black heads..he still got a few but they are very small .to this day he still treats his face once a week in the same manner..and he has great skin..now..good luck try it...

I use Blackhead Eliminated 2 in 1 foaming pads by Neutrogena. They work pretty well and you can get them at like walmart. Like once every two week I use a mask called queen helene mint julep mask. Try going to http://www.cosmeticsolutions.biz/servlet/Search?category=Skin+Care%3AFacial+Care%3AMasks&oem=Queen+Helene
If that doesn't work then I would try Bare Minerals foundation. It's an all natural loose powder and it is pretty expensive but it doesn't clog pores at all!

Well good luck! Hope you find something that works!

it is true, due to the size of your pores, they will always be magnets for oil and dirt, i recommend biore strips for your t-zone, as for cheeks and rest of face proactiv makes a great refining mask it really cleans out your skin, i use proactive wash as well it has tiny scrubbers that get your pores pretty clean. i also have large pores and am prone to blackheads on my nose and sides of my face, for the ones that dont clear out with all my other beauty regimens, i get a european facial every month, they extract the gunk out of your pores, it hurts, but its worth it!
P.S. i use MAC- studio fix foundation to cover up my huge pores

Right now my skin is perfectly clear, for the first time in 3 years. It's been about 9 weeks and all my acne is gone. It is such a great feeling to wake up with clear skin.
