Claudia, I think it is fairly unanimous that arrogance is indeed a negative trait for anyone to have. When people are arrogant lines of communication are broken down, how often do you really want to talk to someone who is arrogant? I'm guessing not often if at all. Arrogant people are cutting themselves off from others and preventing others from communicating with them.

"Arrogant" comes from Old Greek "Arrogare," "to claim without right." It's generally regarded as a negative trait; it can certainly get you into a lot of arguments, and even the occasional fistfight. In some circumstances it can lead to tragedies. Some say it's a mild form of delusional thinking.

I think arrogance is a bad trait to posses. It causes a person to have a self-centered outlook on life and causes them to think in terms that they are better than they really are. Arrogance also causes a person to be conceited and not take into account other people's needs.

Arrogence (I'm sorry) is a bad trait! Godd traits comes form the fruits of the spirit. Galatians 5:22 says,"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

God hates pride! It says in the bible that he opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble!

I honestly think arrogance can offend, although it does help you out when you are being persecuted about a belief. If used the right way I think it can be a good thing. But when used the wrong can be hateful to others!

Always bad. It's a word with a negative connotation. We should have self-respect and be proud of who we are, but arrogance is going too far in that spectrum.
