How to deal with totally inconsiderate neighbors???

I live next to the most inconsiderate people EVER!!! They have 2 dogs that they let out ALL THE DAMN TIME and they bark and bark and wake my whole family up. I've called the cops several times. They evicted their cat and it started using my yard as its damn litter box. I asked them twice to please do something about it. I'm at my wits end!!! How do I deal with living next to these people without go friggin nuts??? Their dogs are out right now, barking, while my toddler is upstairs trying to sleep. I can't even open his windows up!!! I'VE HAD IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To Hodgie...they had a different dog a few weeks ago. I called the cops becuz it woke my kids up. They told the cops that they really can't give the dog the attention it needs so they were looking to get rid of it. A few days later, the dog was running loose in the neighborhood. I don't know if they just let it run away or what, but we were THRILLED. It was quiet for two weeks on our street...then these people who couldn't give that dog the attention it needed went out and got 2 MORE DOGS!!!!! I about flipped out!!! They gave the cops that sad story about them having 2 small children, and they do, and made it sound like they were the victims and said they didn't want any trouble with the neighbors. And then they go and pull this crap...

I am STILL listening to the damn dogs barking!!!

No matter what you do, don't give up without a fight. Get back on the phone with the police dept. Most areas have noise ordinances. If your neighbors can't or won't control their animals keep on calling. It doesn't matter. Your child's sleep and safety are of paramount importance. If the police don't want to do their job go over their heads to your alderman or even the mayors office. Don't lose your temper. Keeping your calm while explaining your situation, especially if the person on the other end of the phone can hear the dogs barking in the background will go a long way toward helping you achieve your goal of a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. Calling animal control for a list of guideline is always helpful. Keep up posted and good luck to you.

This is a tough situation. If you felt the animals were being abused or neglected, you could report your neighbors to animal control or whoever deals with this kind of thing in your particular neighborhood. Other than that, you have called the cops and done everything you really could do. Is it possible to get a petition going against these people? Other neighbors are probably fed up too! Try talking to them to see if you can brainstorm ideas.

that really sux. i understand your problem! been there. you've already tried calling the cops. i'd certainly call animal control, or the an organization like that, just to see what your options are. i dont really have anything to add, other than make some calls, and explore your options. i dont think you'll have much recourse, unfortuantely. you can't pull an Elaine (From Seinfeld) and help the dog "Disappear"...

well all i can say is that you should have a party on saturday night and invite alot of people. play loud music and rent a really noisy car. lol plz e-mail me back to tell me if the advice worked (that is if you used)

well they threw the cat out so thats an easy one, just toss it in your car and drive about 5 miles away and let it go...the dogs, you could sneakily go open the door to thier fence in the middle of the night, so when the dogs get let out they run away...
