my bf of a year has desided to sighn up for the army, i asked him why he said to get my mom to shut up about him. the thing is she wont. i begged him not to sighn up he said and promised me he wouldnt then last night he went and took the test behind my back. so he lied to me then broke a promise.

There is absoutely nothing wrong with joining the military. It is very admirable--you should be proud that you have a boyfriend who is so selfless.
Yeah, he lied and broke a promise. He needs to make decisions to better his life though.
Don't berate him over it. He did what he needed to do.
Bless him for having viable options with his life and utilizing those options.
And if you can't stand the thought of him joining the military to only be sent to Iraq and all that--then find a new boyfriend who will bow to your every whim and whine.

In the end you should respect his decision i guess, sucks he lied, but maybe he did it too not make you feel worse.
