Brain washing, in the sense of compelling someone to believe who does not initially want to, has never been proven to work.
So you have to start from the view that this person wants to believe. You can work on someone slowly by systematically countering their arguments but sometimes you have to let time do it's work. The school of hard knocks has de-brainwashed many a person.

But it might not and there is not much you can do about it.

Get them away from the thing that is brainwashing them immediately, keep them in a quiet and safe room, play music softly and have a stranger (someone safe and non-threatening) discuss with them the truth about what they are believing.
