he/she does this because it loves you and feels safe around you. when they go on thier back it means they trust you because its their weakest point... or eles he/she is just a playful kitten.

Awww, your cat loves you and wants some affection. However, most cats will only tolerate a very little belly rubbing, before they get overstimulated and bite. some won't tolerate it at all. My cat is older, and she does this whenever anyone walks by. Depending who it is, she gets a quick belly rub, a scritch on the head, or picked up and carried around. It's all good so far as she's concerned.

However, what really gets her purring and meowing is when I give here a back rub. I scratch up and down her spine from neck to tail, and she crawls around sideways o ht efloor purring and meowing. She won't let me get away, she keeps following me and flopping on her side.

Cats only "meow" to humans - they do not do that in the wild. And it usually gets our attention. So he is giving you a message which you need to interpret. He may want a belly rub (none of my cats really seek that) and you just have to test it out. My cats will "meow" at the place where they eat if THEY think it time for dinner.

A question for you? Male or female? Spayed/neutered? It is likely to be attention seeking, but hey we want our cats to be affectionate! If not spayed/neutered it may be a little sexual attention that is being sort, but either way it's quite normal, it will either be a fuss or game thats wanted!

When cats show their belly's, it is because they trust you, and want to share affections.
