My 70lb terrior mix started antibiotics for a sinus infection yesterday. She will not eat. Anyone have any suggestions on getting her to eat? I know she can't smell and that is a problem, but any help would be appreciated

have you told your Vet she will not eat? It may well be the meds are not agreeing w her. My dogs have had reactions to the antibiotics and had to be changed. Best to listen to what your pup is telling you.

It's really hard to get animals to eat when they can't smell the food. Try canned food, it has more odor than dry. You can mix some canned in with the dry just to get her interested. Put some canned food on your finger and put it in her mouth, then show her the bowl.

Try putting canned food into the microwave for a few seconds (not too hot), it'll increase the smelliness. You can also try mixing a little chicken or beef baby food with her regular food, or cook her some boiled hamburger or boiled chicken and rice.
