i think people have to think twice before they go vacation in belgium, your visa will be denied if you are young girl and not married because the govt. think that you go there to look for a husband( rediculous) my friend have a family who are citizen there but her visa was denied for that reason, her purpose for vacation is only to feel what is winter in europe,she has a nice job in her country thats why she has to go back and have a return ticket and have invitation letter all things that reqiured but after months of waiting for her visa it was denied, after all her expenses including visa payment which is not refundable;i never encounter such regulations as this

I live in Belgium and haven't experienced anything like this and I am from the US. I moved here about 7 months ago and I wondered myself why many people didn't visit here. The country has an amazing history and there is so much to see and do. I would do your own research before you make statements like this.

I don't know about this. Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg are all basically the same country. They have established an agreement where they are known as Benelux. You can openly travel between these countries once you are in them. And you don't need any type of visa to go there on vacation. Unless you are spending a lot of time there. I have been to all three countries and when I arrived they looked at my passport for about 3 seconds and let me in.

I think that your friend did not tell the story correctly. Thousand of tourist from all over the world come to Belgium without problems. Immigration does not resemble by far to the customs in the US.

I don't believe you. I have been to Belguim six times from two different countries and never had a problem. I am single and travelled by myself
