Technically, a Martini is made w/ Gin and dry white vermouth, though in recent years substituting vodka for gin has become more popular than the original recipe.

You can drink it straight up, w/ an olive twist or dirty (with olive juice), shaken or stirred. Personally, I like mine dirty - tripple olive & stirred, made w/ Vodka instead of Gin.

Vodkatinis for me please!

put a little vermouth in the glass
swish it around in the glass
pour the vermouth out
the glass is prepared for the drink

next, it depends on what kind of martini your making
but generally, mix it and pour it in
if your making a dirty martini
put vodka or gin and olive juice in the mixer/shaker with some ice
shake it for 10 seconds or so
use a strainer and pour it into martini glass.

garnish will olives.

pour into a glass, pu

I like mine dirty so in a shaker I combine an ounce and a half of vodka with a splash of dry vermouth and another splash of the brine from the olives! Shake well and pour, add a couple of gorgonzola stuffed olives and yummy!
