First and foremost, to burn the fat you have to have an extreme focus on aerobic activity. Cardiovascular exercise (defined as operating at 70-80% of your maximum heart rate, sustained for about 20-40 minutes) is the only thing that will effectively burn fat.

Abdominal strength training (i.e. crunches, leg raises, lateral obliques, sit-ups, flutter kicks, knee pumps, etc) will get you that six-pack effect but you'll never see it unless you burn the fat off with cardio.

As for the diet, the secret is acknowledging the true purpose of food as fuel rather than entertainment. Focus on protein, fats, and carbohydrates and learn about each of them. A little bit of research online will teach you a lot. Remember, don't diet; change your eating lifestyle. Doing so will change your life for the better.

Anyway, if you want it simple, here it is in ten steps:
1. protein is good...eat plenty (about 30% of your caloric intake)
2. fats are good and bad...know the difference
3. saturated and trans fats are the bad ones - limit these
4. poly- and mono-unsaturated fats are good - don't be afraid of them
5. carbohydrates are good and bad...know the difference
6. fibers and complex carbs are the good ones - eat these (about 40% of your caloric intake)
7. sugars and simple carbs are the bad ones - limit these, particularly late in the day (stay away from sodas and chips!)
8. drink water - lots and lots and lots of water. It's the only drink you need. Anything else is either wasted or simply bad for you
9. Eat 4-6 "meals" a day to boost your metabolism.
10. A meal is defined as a portion of a low-fat, protein rich entree, a portion of veggies for vits/mins, and a portion of complex carbs. (You can get these combined as a health shake)

Good luck! You can do it!

i have a good diet plan the only things you need is will power here it goes:
when you wake up before anything do cadio for 30 min.after that drink one glass of water wait 30 more minutes then it breakfast.
3 hours later eat a snack
3hours later from that lunch
3 hours from that another snack
finally 3hours from that dinner

dont eat after 7:00pm and drink at least 8 glasses of water trough out the day, drink water 30 minutes before and after eating or you can get a belly.
no junkfood ,fried food,or sweet drinks.eat grilled or baked fish and chicken.if you strenght train for example:monday do your upper body(arms, abs, back) ,tuesday do your lower body(legs ,calfs, and butt).always work out your body part every other day, leave time for resting your muscules, muscules grow when resting.go jogging everyday for 30-40 minutes.eat lots of vegtables and fruits
for the calfs you can stand on the tip of your toes and put your heel up and down without touching the floor do about 50 of them and for your pudge do crunches if it helps avoid eating white rice and beans if you want a flatt tummy .good luck and hope it helps.i lost 6 pounds the first week

there are other, more healthy diets, too. like a raw vegetable diet or even a no white food diet. i have heard that a taco soup is WONDERFUL. maybe you can google some good diet foods.

you also need to work out. running is great for everything. my 2 brothers and i all run. i used to be a little pudgy and now i look... perfect!

so try some of these. they sould help a lot.
