You will have to show me were it says we should go to church on Saturday or any other day of the week. It says we should keep the Sabbath as a day of rest.. What's restful about going to church? At Sandy Ridge Christian (my home church) there are meetings on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and a leadership meeting on Friday. I am not a sabbitarian but your idea that meeting should be held on the Sabbath only is OUT THERE.. Jim

God doesn't say on Saturday/the seventh day!
He says, "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy..."
1. I do that, but I go to church on Sunday.
2. I actually set every day apart to the Lord.
3. I am not sure that this is a New Testament requirement, although I do feel convicted to observe it.

You should worship always, not just on Saturdays. Sunday is the Lords Day because Jesus appeared to the disciples on Sunday. You can go to church on anyday. We are not Jews and are righteous by faith not by the law. The bible says the Sabbath (Saturday) is the day of no work and rest, not the day of worship. Jesus said He is the Lord of the Sabbath. The rest is now in Jesus.

The Catholic Church follows the teaching and practice of the Apostles. In the 20th chapter of the Act of the Apostles, the church in Troas gathered on the first day of the week, Sunday.

Christians believe that Jesus fulfilled the Law of Moses. Therefore Christians are not held to the ceremonial parts of the Mosaic Law concerning of dietary purity and temple worship.

Christians are held to the moral law of God, some of which is expressed in the Ten Commandments.

The first Christians were Jews. They went to temple or synagogue on the Sabbath (Saturday) with fellow Jews.

Then they gathered on the first day of the week, the day on which Jesus rose from the dead (Sunday), with fellow Christians to tell stories of Jesus and share Eucharist. See Acts 20:7.

Later Gentiles joined Christianity. The Apostles, filled with the Holy Spirit, decided that the Gentiles did not have to covert to Judaism. Therefore, they only attended on Sundays and did not have to abide by Jewish dietary laws.

This has been the practice ever since.

With love in Christ.

On Saturday, you go to praise God, the Sunday folks go there to ask him for things... It's a working day for God...

God said Saturdays to the Jewish faith. The new testament says that Christians can view all days as the same or some differently - it's not important.

God doesn't really care.

He did at one time, but that was way back before the Reformation.

Read for yourself in Malachi, where he says, in effect, "I don't really give a crap what day you do you Sabbath."

Then he goes on to talk about wondering what it would be like if he smites the earth with a curse.

What day to go to church is the least of our worries, believe you me.

In Islam the Holy Day is Friday.
It is said that on a Friday, the Judgement Day will occur...
In the Bible it doesn't say that Sunday was the Holy Day...I don't think it mentions any day as being the Holy Day. It just says that on the LAST day God rested....
