Grab one hand with the other and push together as hard as you can until your arms start to viberate hold for a few seconds, and build the time up gradually, change the level that you are holding them and you can feel the strain in different parts of your body IE stomach, shoulders arms etc, (This is dynamic tension ,) now while you are holding your hands push instead of pulling, then you can rest your hand on your knee and push down with your hand while pushing up with your knee again until you feel the muscles viberate, you can press against a wall , or hold anything to pull against, etc also hold a towel or shirt against the small of your back and pull forward with your hands and push back with your body all until your muscles viberate, don't for get to build up the time you hold the pressure so as not to over strain yourself and do damage.
Cost of equipment nil, space need you can tense your muscles anywhere sitting in a car at traffic lights or any chair, or in just the space it takes to stand up.
Then you can run on the spot, do press ups either the conventual way or just stand back a little from a wall or door lean forward and do your press ups from there.
Hope this is what you wanted good luck.

I take it your in the slammer dude?
Well try some upside down sit ups. You need anti gravity boots and a pole installed on the ceiling. You might have problems getting this if you on suicide watch though. Failing that you should learn Thai Chi and Yoga and add to normal sit up and press ups for a really good allover tone. A yoga ball as mentioned by someone else earlier is a really good tool for muscle toning.
Hope you get out soon...

You could get an exercise ball - you can do heaps of muscle toneing exercises with them in a small space. Otherwise the simple things - push ups, sit ups, etc. etc.. My boyfriends brother got a pole accross the top of his living room door that you can do pull ups on - it's pretty cool but I've no upper body strength so am rubbish on it! Good luck with it xx

can't you go outside for a run? Or do you live on a 2 metres square island in the sea? Then why not swim?

Do push-ups (upper body), bicycle crunches (abs), and lunges or squats (legs). It's a great all-around workout. Once you get to the point where you can do 50 push-ups in less than a minute, you'll have to add weights to increase resistance, in order to build more muscle mass.
