This could be a point made about your particular faith or non faith.

Or it could have been an answer you were looking for and never really found.

By shake, I just mean shake, not destroy.

when younger I had a lot of shaking in my faith,
why did my baby die, why did my dad walk out on 8 kids hwy did I have breast cancer at 19.... but as I grew, and learned. I seen God did not do this, I lived, I learned every thing happened for a reason. I was put through trials and I survived them trials they were my mountains and I had to climb up above them to reach the top, but alone I could not do it but through Christ.... all things are possible

When I was a freshman in high school, I had grown up in an enviroment where if you didn't believe in the 6,000 year old universe you were not a true believer.

I also loved astronomy. And in one of my science classes we talked about how some of the stars we see and galaxies are millions of light years away.

So I questioned my faith because I sincerely believed that the universe was MUCH younger then that but the science was pretty cut and dry that that the light from the stars hiting our eyes was in fact millions of years old.

I simply resolved this as something I couldn't explain but I was still holding on to my faith.

Later, however, as I grew in my understanding of the biblical text and theology my views on the age of the universe changed. Noticed it did not change because I was trying to make science fit, it changed because I had only an elmentary understanding of the Genesis text.

I now believe the Universe is very very old. As they say in Christian circles I am an old Earther.

If God is a jealous god, wouldnt that mean he is not perfect. And if in fact he is not perfect, nothing in the world is perfect. And therefor God is either just one of us or non-existant.
