Most of what you have expressed above is based upon an unscriptural understanding of End Times. The "mark of the beast" is not some chip implanted under the skin or a physical mark of any kind.
To understand what the "mark of the beast" is, you must first understand who the "beast" is.
When you read the book of Revelation, it talks about a "beast" rising up out of the sea with seven heads and 10 horns. The book of Daniel defines a "beast" as a world power. The "sea" is likewise defined as a populated area. The seven heads are seven kings. The 10 horns are the10 original nations/tribes of Europe. It also talks about three of these horns being plucked up by a little horn that would "speak great things and blasphemies". The "little horn" power was Rome, which destroyed 3 tribes living in that area at the time. This "little horn" power is also the "first beast" of Revelation. This beast power had several descriptive points:
1) It would rule for 1260 years.
2) It would persecute the saints.
3) It would sit on "7 hills".
4) It would speak blasphemy against God.
5) It would have a man at its head.
6) It would be both a church and a state.
7) Its primary colors would be scarlet and purple.
8) At the end of the 1260 years, it would suffer a "deadly wound", which would later be healed.
Looking at this description, it becomes pretty obvious that the first beast power is the Vatican, or Rome. Revelation continues and says that this beast power will cause the second beast power to enforce the "mark of the beast". The second beast power is described as rising up at the end of the 1260 years (late 1700's) out of a sparsely populated area (the "earth"). It would start out as a Christian nation with civil and religious liberty but would end up speaking like a dragon. This seems to describe the United States.
The Vatican has publicly admitted that their "mark" of authority is Sunday worship. They admit changing the day of worship in about 325 A.D. without any scriptural authority to do so. We believe that the "mark of the beast" is Sunday worship. It removes allegiance from the command of the Creator to the traditions of Man. So, when a person worships on Sunday, they are giving homage to the Vatican and not to their Creator, who commanded us to worship on the Seventh Day. The Catholic Church persecuted Christians who worshipped on the true Sabbath throughout the DArk Ages.

Christians during the Great Tribulation are not to take the mark of the beast BECAUSE God says not to do so. Disobeying God's word is sin and sin separates the sinner from God. There is never an excuse to go against the word of God, even if it means physical death. The eternal life of the soul is far more important than the comforts of the body. Christians do not suffer enough and taking on the cross means suffering for Christ. It meas suffering as Christ suffered. If a person wants to trade sacrifice for comfort, then he/she is not saved, but is condemned. This sounds harsh, but God is a jealous God and he doe3s not want to share his children with any other god or the devil.

Erm, im not sure about the fisrt/you main question. I mean, i am sure, but i cant put it into word quite right. If u get the mark of the beast you basically belong to the beast. But if u live in the time of the tirbulation, u would have only 2 choices:
OPTION 1 - get the mark and live (without wich you would not be able to buy or sell or work for anyone, eg:, be paid, put petrol in your car, buy a bread, etc.) Ppl will think that getting the mark is sooooo smart cos u dont have to carry around any ID or Cash or anything like that. Where ever y go, u just bleep ur wrist and ta-da! So i think that andy non Christian would get it as they dont beleive in the beast.
OPTION 2 - dont get the mark and die. Like i sed, without the mark, u wont be able to buy food or drink, rent a house or get fuel or clothes. This would be the Christians as they will be abel to recognise what is happening. (answering ur extra bit u added) If you become a christian in the time of the tribulation, u will be killed. They would tell u to choose wither the beast or God, if u chose God, ud be killed and so therefore the only way to get to heaven will be to die in the name of God. To die for God.

I believe that the mark is a spiritual mark.
The word says in Eph. that we are sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption. In the same way you can see the "mark"of an unbeliever.
As far as the tribulation saints, that is a pre millennial question as well. I would think that at the end of the 7 years, when Jesus appears, they will be caught up on that last day.
I am not well versed in this, as I tend to study more of post millennial.
Hope I helped some. ~vicki

When two people get married, they don't have to wear wedding rings, but the rings are a visible symbol to others that they are married - committed to someone.
To take the mark of the beast is a visible symbol to others that you have rejected God and accepted the beast as your god.
The first commandment reads:
I am the Lord thy God, thou shalt not have any other gods before Me.
If you accept the mark of the beast, you are breaking that first commandment upon which everything else in the Bible is based upon. You are casting your lot with the beast. And, if you read the last book of the Bible, then you know what happens to the beast.

The mark of the beast is submission to another who will be claiming to be God. He will be a ruler who is so exhualted that he will require a mark on his people. All others can not buy and sell in commerce and will be targeted for death. But dont worry about death. This life is short compared to eternity. You will recieve a new body. If you are forced to get your head chopped off for following Jesus you must not be afraid. You will be with the Lord soon. Do not take the mark. It may be a tattoo or a micro chip. Whatever it is there will definately be a pupose of pledging your worship and allegiance to a false god.
God bless you.

The "Mark and Number of the Beast" being symbolic, the taking of that number would indicate ones submission to control by the "Beast". Christians are to submit only to God.

the mark signifies ownership. if you are not owned by God, spiritually you're owned by the devil, and those who are the devils children, don't make it to God. so if you refuse the mark, it's the equivalent of accepting God I guess. (post-rapture)
also, those saved after the tribulation (which would be very few I imagine) would not be raptured. likely, the only way to Heaven is through death. the anti-Christ would likely have them killed for refusal of the mark (not part of the world's union or something), or those practcing the non-ordained religion (the devil will claim to be God) will be put to death.

Taking the mark of the beast will mean that you rejected Jesus Christ. We cannot do that. Not even if we lose our life.
I plan on going up in the rapture and missing that horrible part.
